Andrew Bowen has been entertaining audiences since the age of 19, when he booked his first job working with Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss in the comedy “What About Bob?” With over 2oo credited jobs in Film, TV, Commercials and Voice Overs, Andrew has worked with some of Hollywood ’s most successful creators including Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead), Dana Brunetti (Fifty Shades of Grey), Dean Devlin (Independence Day), John Rogers (The Librarians), Jason Reitman (Juno), Lasse Hallström (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) and James Mangold (The Wolverine).
Still celebrated for his hysterical series regular on MAD TV (where his spot-on impersonations of such celebrities asKeanu Reeves and Nicolas Cage are legendary), it’s Andrew’s ability to equally deliver engaging dramatic performances from manipulative criminals (Starz’ MAGIC CITY) to CEO’s cracking under mental illness (LEVERAGE) that has kept him so busy.
2015 has been a busy year for Andrew who has already completed work on three feature films – the most recent being the horror anthology HOLIDAYS opposite Lorenza Izzo. Andrew will soon be seen in the movie musical SUMMER FOREVER with Megan Nicole and Alyson Stoner, the black comedy BLOOD SHY, the new season of MARON and in John Asher’s powerful Autism drama PO (with Christopher Gorham and Julian Feder) in 2016.
Bowen can currently be seen opposite Uma Thurman in the Jameson First Shot winning film ‘THE GIFT’ (produced by Dana Brunetti and Kevin Spacey), a hilarious cameo in the film TOOKEN, as Nick Trevor in his award winning web-series THE DIVISION and the riotous sci-fi cult comedy ROCK JOCKS (with Felicia Day and Doug Jones) now on Netflix.
Some of Andrew’s notable credits include recurring roles on MAGIC CITY, RENO 911!, appearances on such hits as CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI, NICKY RICKY DICKY and DAWN, Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE and starring turns in the features ROCK JOCKS, CONJURER and BUTTERFLY DREAMING.
An active staple in the Gaming world, Andrew has lent his voice talents to some the most successful Video Game titles of all time including JOHNNY CAGE in MOTRAL KOMBAT X, Josh Birk/NyteBlaydein the SAINT’S ROW series, “DOC” in the STAR WAR: THE OLD REPUBLIC and “Sev” in KILLZONE III.
A producer, screenwriter and director – Andrew has produced commercials, various short films and the feature film ALONG THE WAY (which was Andrew’s directorial debut). Andrew is currently in active development on several high concept TV series and feature films including his redneck flashdance comedy DON’T FIGHT THE FEELIN’ and his comedic adventure film THE MCAULIFFE EQUATION.
A devoted family man, Andrew has managed to balance a career while still raising three children (all teenagers now) in Los Angeles with his wife of 15 years, award winning photographer Renee Bowen. Both Andrew and his wife are active supporters of Autism charities and the community. Their eldest son was diagnosed with Autism when he was 4 1/2.
Andrew’s high standards, wit, goofy nature (often showcased on his his Instagram and Vine feeds) and ability to bring out the creative best in people has resulted in a large and fast growing fan base eager to support his emergence as a creative force, inventive comedian and a chameleon-like leading man.
